Sambo is a russian martial art and a combat sport. It is a mix of Judo and wrestling. It bases on throws and joint locks and chokes and it was developed for the Soviet Red Army by Viktor Spiridonov and Vasili Oshchepkov. It has patrs of Judo in it, because Oshchepkov lived in Japan and trained Judo under the lead of its founder Jigoro Kano.
